2019 is going to be a great year at the Haston Library! In January, we will be starting a new movie streaming service to all Haston Library card holders through Kanopy.
With Kanopy, Haston Library patrons will have access to more than 30,000 films, for free. The popular on-demand film streaming service Kanopy will be available for free at beginning 1 January, 2019. Films can be streamed from any computer, television, mobile device or platform by downloading the Kanopy app for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast or Roku. Each month one library card holder can stream 4 movies.

We are also offering a program called 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. Parents of children ages birth – 5 may sign up at the library. You may ask, is it possible to read 1,000 books before Kindergarten? Yes, it’s easy. If you read 3 books a day for a year, that’s 1,095 books! Or, you could read 1 book a day for 3 years and still reach 1,095.
Sign up at the library and get your first 100 book reading chart. You can read any books you want, in any language. Do you read the same book 5 times a day? It’s alright! Count it 5 times on your chart. When you have finished your first 100, bring your chart in and pick up your next 100 chart. When you reach 1,000, bring your final log to the library to receive your special prize.
